For those planning ahead of this year’s NYSCC Suppliers’ Day event in NYC on May 1st and 2nd, this preview offers insight into some informative educational session options for the Day 2 itinerary.

This NYSCC Suppliers’ Day preview spotlights some of the enlightening educational sessions scheduled for Day 2, providing a glimpse into the cutting-edge topics and industry experts that will grace the stage. From L'Oréal's Green Sciences Revolution keynote to insightful panels on ingredient literacy and navigating regulatory landscapes, Day 2 promises a day of learning, networking, and inspiration.

All the following sessions are complimentary and are included in EXPO ONLY admission tickets. 

Main Stage Keynote Presentation: The Green Sciences Revolution – L'Oréal's Commitment to Sustainable Innovation

9:00 AM – 10:00 AM

This year’s NYSCC Suppliers’ Day featured keynote speaker is Qian Zheng, MD/PhD, SVP Head of Advanced Research North America & Global Regenerative Beauty Discovery Domain at L’OREAL Research & Innovation, in a session moderated by Kathryn Hopkins, Senior Beauty Editor, WWD. 

The keynote discussion will be focused on how “L'Oréal's Green Sciences approach creates alternatives to petrochemicals and delve into new research areas of high performance, with an overarching aim to drive positive change for the world,” confirmed NYSCC’s event website, and will provide insight into the ways “L'Oréal is leading a Green Sciences strategy with a goal to significantly improve the environmental profiles of its products by 2030 in line with the Group's sustainability program, L'Oréal for the Future.”

Truth in Beauty – Meet the Sci Comm Influencers Educating Consumers Around the Globe!

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

This Main Stage panel will introduce attendees to the scientists aiming to educate consumers about the truth (and fiction) regarding ingredients across all beauty and personal care product industry sectors.

The panel will include Andrea Love, Immunologist and Microbiologist; Erica Douglas, Sister Scientist and CEO at mSeed Group; Jen Novakovich, Science Communicator and Director at The Eco Well; and Kenton Hipsher, Associate Director of Sales, North America at Geltor. Each is an expert in their field and will offer their expertise and insights into the evolution of product ingredient formulation R&D, efficacy research, and how to navigate the ongoing education of consumers about ingredient literacy and its impact on consumer purchasing behaviors.

"From California with Love" – Innovating in a Complex Regulatory Landscape

2:30 PM – 3:30PM

In this Innovations Theater discussion, attendees can “join west-coast organization, Beauty Industry West (BIW) in partnership with the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) for an insightful talk that will delve into the dynamic intersection of product innovation and regulatory compliance within the beauty industry. In today's ever-evolving market, navigating the complex regulatory landscape while driving innovation poses significant challenges,” according to the NYSCC Suppliers’ Day event website.

“This event aims to provide industry professionals with valuable insights and strategies to overcome these challenges and thrive in an environment that demands both creativity and compliance,” the website confirmed and will feature a panel moderated by Ronie M Schmelz, Partner at K&L Gates that will include speakers Aliza Franklin, Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager at Dr. Squatch; Avril Love, Counsel at K&L Gates; Charlene Valledor, Co-Founder at SOS Beauty Group; and Oralia De Anda, Director of Business Development at Best Formulations.
