Rexam debuts turbo insert at HBA in New York
The company's latest product debuts at the HBA show which opened its doors this morning at the Jacob K Javits centre in New York.
Improves spray of viscous solutions
The Turbo Insert has been designed to boost the sprayed application of emulsions, gels and lotions that are up to one hundred times the viscosity of water.
The company claims the system is the only device of its kind in the industry and will help to eliminate the messiness that can be involved with weaker distribution systems.
According to the company the Turbo Insert is a response to the growing diversity of formulations within the personal care industry that require spray application. A sun cream with SPF of 50 and above is an example of a product which could benefit from the Turbo Insert, according to Rexam.
“Today we see more demanding formulations for innovative emulsions and lotions for spray application,” said global lotion product manager for Rexam personal care Virginie Lemeunier.
“Anticipating the growth of this trend, we spent nearly two years developing the Turbo Insert, to allow our customers to offer high viscosity formulations in packaging that pleases consumers with a full, even spray pattern, consistency and continuity,” she added.
The Insert is compatible with Rexam's SP22 and 32 emulsion pumps which are in turn available with the company's screw-on, snap'on and crimp-on attachment systems.
New personal care technical centre
The company's personal care division has recently received a boost with the opening of a new technical centre in Burgundy, France.
The facility is divided into two distinct divisions: one for dispensing systems, and one for make-up packaging – a distinction which the company says will help it to better meet the unique requirements of each category.
The dispensing division is focused on providing solutions for the fragrance and cosmetic categories, specialising in complete dispensing solutions that are assembled in synergy with other Rexam production sites.
The make-up division has been developed to provide a complete set of turnkey solutions for manufacturers in this category.
This division specializes in the injection of different materials, lacquering, and metallizing techniques, capabilities which make it one of the most advanced facilities of its kind in the world, Rexam claims.
