The first ever acne treatment to use a synthetically produced lipid
that replicates one found in human skin, significantly reduces acne
whilst minimizing side effects, suggests a new study.
US pharmaceuticals and skin care specialist SkinMedica has
developed a timed release delivery system for the active
ingredients of an acne treatment that is said to up efficacy and
lower the chances of skin irritation.
Results of a UK study have highlighted how over the counter (OTC)
benzoyl peroxide lotion is as good as prescription antibiotics for
the treatment of mild to moderate facial acne, reports Simon
