In early November, the trend forecasting agency Fashion Snoops is holding a full-day event in New York City, previewing coming color and culture trends that will impact fashion, home, design, and beauty in the years ahead. In-house FS experts and guest speakers will present on the hues, insights, disruptive brands, and macro trends creative pros need to know about.

It’s that time again, when everyone is looking ahead to the New Year; but Fashion Snoops is looking further ahead, to 2020. The agency’s vice president of beauty Melissa Hago spoke by phone with Cosmetics Design last week about the upcoming trends event and why it’s such a smart place for cosmetics and personal care pros be.

“A day of inspiration” —that’s how Hago describes the Fashion Snoops event. Trend Immersion 2020 takes place on November 5th at the Scandinavia House on Park Avenue in New York City.  And early-bird tickets are available now.

Hago believes that today’s consumer is a lifestyle consumer; and, she says, “having everyone together at the Trend Immersion event allows [experts, clients, and attendees to experience] what each trend really looks like.”

Sights and scents

The event comprises informational presentations, panel discussions, guest speakers, networking opportunities, a hands-on trends discovery space, and custom fragrances developed to help attendees evoke the day’s learnings with colleagues back at the office.

Fashion Snoops, in business for 18 years now, has projected 10 mega trends that will impact the spectrum of lifestyle and FMCG brands in the months and years to come.

And, the agency will be sharing a selection of these with clients and other savvy guests on trend immersion day. At the November 5th event, Charlotte Palermino and Marta Freedman, founders CBD platform Nice Paper, as well as Sylwia Wiesenberg of Dope Naturally and Bawdy will be on hand to discuss their disruptive brands and their visions and aspirations for the contemporary consumer marketplace.

Art and chemistry

Every editor and expert at Fashion Snoops gathers inspiration and information from their industry of choice and beyond. Hago tells this publication that she looks to beauty, to art, to technology, and to several other industries and cultural areas in order to assess and determine what brands, retailers, product developers, and marketing pros need to know about the beauty trends and consumer expectations of the future.

And while the agency’s editors trade notes and read one another’s reports as a matter of course, Hago tells Cosmetics Design that the Trend Immersion event is the ultimate place where the FS experts get to exchange insights and have a sincere conversation with the brands and marketers and product development pros that will shape the future of beauty.
