The second Cosmopack Symposium will open its doors in New York City next month, complete with two-days of network opportunities and a targeted conference program.

Building on the success of the inaugural event last year, organizer Cosmoprof, part of the Italy-based Fiere Group, is looking to further evolve the event into a go-to for packaging professionals involved in the cosmetics and personal care categories.

The event will be held from September 16 – 17 at the Hilton Midtown Hotel in New York City, and will kick off at 7am with a networking breakfast, followed by an opening ceremony as well as a half-day conference program.

Five diverse conference sessions

The event will commence with a welcome address from Duccio Campagnoli, president Bologna Fiere group, as well as Fabio Rossello, president of Cosmetica Italia and Maurizio Forte, director of ICE New York.

This will then be followed by five other presentations on diverse themes all pertinent to industry professionals, starting with a 9am slot for a roundtable discussion moderated by the Cosmetics Design Team.

The subject of the roundtable is Formulations of the Future, and the invited panel of guests will include experts from BASF, Trendincite, and Omnicos, who will all be bringing their specific expertise to the discussion.

Retail, beauty of the future and GMP

The other four topics will include a perspective from the beauty retail category, an update on Good Manufacturing Practice and a look into what the beauty market of tomorrow might look like.

At 9:50am Pete Born from WWD will be moderating a session titled Retailers Perspective: The Visual Impact & Merchandising, which will include speakers Marcia Gaynor, from DMM Prestige, Jessica Richards founder of Shen and Shawn Tavakoli, CEO of Beauty Collection.

Peek Into Tomorrow: The Beauty Futures is the title of the 10:30am presentation which will be given by Sophie Maxwell, Futures directors Pearlfisher, while at 11am ICMAD president Pam Busiek will be moderating a series of presentations from a panel of experts concerning GMP and transparency.

The final session of the morning will begin at 11:45am with a presentation titled Creating The Perfect Green Brand, which will be moderated by Brook Carlson from FIT and will include a panellist of three experts who will all share their ideas of what gives a green cosmetics brand integrity.
