The AAK Academy is holding two technical seminars in Cincinnati and Dallas to highlight formulation issues specific to vegetable oils and fats.

The free one day events are designed to increase the knowledge and understanding of natural vegetable oils and fats with relation to their specific applications for beauty care products.

Natural oils and fats are forming an increasingly important part in cosmetics formulation, as they are serving the trend towards natural and organic beauty products, a phenomenon that is currently the main driving force in an otherwise lackluster market.

Tapping into deep industry knowledge

AAK is one of the leading manufacturers of vegetable fats and oils and makes a variety of ingredients providing targeted functionality, including emollients and bioactives.

The first of these seminars will be held on Tuesday March 31, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the Marriott Kingsgate Conference Hotel, while the event will be duplicated in Dallas, Texas, at the Renaissance Hotel, on Thursday, April 2.

Key topics will include lipid chemistry, biological benefits, sensory enhancements, crystallization, together with stability and structuring.

Full-day program focusing on lipids

The educational program will run from 9am to 5pm, with lunch and breakfast provided by the AAK team.

One of the main presentations at the technical seminars will be hosted by Jari Alander, Technical Director from AAK Sweden, who will be sharing his expertise on the part lipids play in relation to natural oils.

The AAK Academy requests that all registrations for the event are received by March 17 to ensure a free place.

The AAK Academy was set up as a means of educating its customers about all aspects of oil and fat technology, holding general courses and tailor-made training in the primary markets where it is represented.
