Sederma's new ingredient promises an immediate
skin tightening effect to appeal to the modern consumer in
search of instant gratification.

Dynalift is the latest offering from the France-based ingredients supplier designed to provide an immediate and durable tightening effect. Instant gratification According to the company increasing numbers of products are incorporating tightening ingredients that capture the shortening attention of the modern consumer. The immediate tightening effect persuades consumers to continue using the product whilst they wait for the longer term effects of the formulation. In addition to anti-aging products, tightening ingredients are often included in men's products that promise anti-fatigue, toning and freshening benefits. The ingredient is not only reserved for treatment or skin care products. Foundation products can also incorporate tightening ingredients to give a fresh, young feel to made-up skin. Dynalift is of vegetable origin and forms a stretching film on the surface of the skin giving a tightening effect. Wrinkles decreased after application Sederma tested the ingredient on a 23 volunteers with a mean age of 50 concluding that the micro- and macro-relief of the skin was improved after application. A serum containing 7 percent Dynalift was applied to the faces of the volunteers and measurements were taken 5 minutes and 1 hour after application. In addition the volunteers were asked to evaluate the efficacy of the ingredient. According to Sederma, using a Cutometer and an Aeroflexmeter (a new device developed by Sederma) it was possible to determine a significant smoothing effect of the skin after application with wrinkles decreasing by more than 23 percent. The release of Dynalift follows a number of highly specific actives that the company has launched onto the market this year. April saw the release of Aqualence, a moisturising ingredient that is designed to help the skin cope with environmental changes. The design of the ingredient was inspired by the protective strategy employed by microalgae living in estuary systems. According to the company, the ingredient helps the cell maintain its osmotic potential and therefore stabilise the cell's water content. Earlier in the year the company released an anti-ageing ingredient aimed at the sixty plus generation. Essenskin boosts cell metabolism and can help rebuild the fragile and tired skin of the older generation, said Sederma.
