No cosmetic and personal beauty care product industry conference would be complete without some special events to provide additional opportunities for further education and advancement. These supplementary events celebrate achievements in industry innovation, the benefits of industry association membership, and more.
Tuesday May 2, 2023
Suppliers’ Day Ribbon Cutting Ceremony 9:00 AM
This kick-off event will feature the NYSCC board as well as industry executive partners who have helped bring Suppliers’ Day to life. Attendees will ring in this year’s theme of Renewal, Wellness & Healthy Living with an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to welcome attendees, exhibitors, and presenters to one of New York City’s biggest beauty events.
Future Chemists Workshops Session 1: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM/Session 2: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Featuring moderator John Carola, Chair of the Future Chemists Workshop and presenter Sharonda Newsome, Research Assistant at URS and sponsored by azelis, and DeWolf Glenn, these two sessions are a Suppliers’ Day staple and are being brought back after the success of previous years’ events. In support of cosmetic chemistry education, the Future Chemists Workshop will showcase increased participation from colleges, universities, and sister chapters to support the incoming generation of cosmetic chemistry professionals.
NYSCC Industry Awards Night 9:00 PM – 1:00 AM
This special event is a true celebration of achievement in the cosmetic and personal beauty care product industries. Taking place on Opening Night at Second Floor NYC, the NYSCC Board will announce the eight finalists of the CEW Beauty Creators Supplier’s Awards in the Ingredients & Formulations Category for their work in industry innovation. Space is limited for Awards Night, and tickets must be secured separately to attend.
Wednesday May 3, 2023
NYSCC Mentorship 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Co-moderated by Ava Atri and Mary Fendelander, Co-Chairs of the NYSCC Mentorship Committee, the NYSCC Mentorship Program is open to any interested attendees. Industry newbies, veterans, and those looking for their next career opportunity are encouraged to join this event for a wide range of networking opportunities that include speaking with representatives from colleges and university programs that specialize in cosmetic science education as well as employers in the cosmetic and personal beauty care industries offering internships and entry-level positions. The program also includes curated presentations that will highlight the potential for career development and advancement within these industry spaces.
Membership Mixer 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Moderated by NYSCC Chair Stacey House, this networking event is open to all current Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) members and their valued guests. Attendees will gain insight into the value of SCC membership and can learn how membership can be a crucial part of career advancement in the cosmetic and personal beauty care industries. All event attendees will also be entered to win the opportunity to take a trip and attend California Suppliers’ Day in October.

Poster Presentations @ Suppliers’ Day 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM/ 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
These daily events during the Suppliers’ Day event are back after prior success at previous years’ events. Each peer-reviewed presentation will take place in a special location: the Poster Presentation Pavilion on the Center Stage in Hall D of the Javits Center. There will be scheduled sessions to ensure optimal engagement with each presentation, and the schedule will be posted online prior to the event.
