Biotech firm Mirexus partners with Cargill Beauty
Canada-based biotech company Mirexus has forged ties with Cargill Beauty, forming a strategic partnership to deliver Mirexus’ innovative bio-active, PhytoSpherix, to Cargill’s global personal care customer base.

The two companies recently showcased the PhytoSpherix technology at in-cosmetics Global Amsterdam, where it was being promoted as a pluri-functional phytoglycogen.

The ingredient is said to have a unique, natural bio-active that provides smooth skin after-feel, enhanced moisturizing, as well as anti-aging and skin tone benefits. It will be incorporated into the new Cargill Beauty System 1.0 Concept.

Building on biotech expertise

Mirexus is a privately held company and has developed by offering sustainable plant-derived glycogen solutions for a range of uses in personal care and cosmetic formulations.

The partnership is equally beneficial to Cargill Beauty, because it helps to build out and expand its nature-derived portfolio and also adds further biotechnology expertise to enhance its bio-actives expertise.
