FDA to hold public meeting for proposals on international cosmetics regulation
The FDA has confirmed that it will hold a public meeting on May 25 ahead of the International Cooperation on Cosmetic Regulation (ICCR) meeting, to be held in Brazil in July.

This is the 11th​ annual prep meeting ahead of the ICCR event, which will “invite public input on various topics pertaining to the regulation of cosmetics” for the annual ICCR meeting.

The FDA organized public meeting will be held between 2pm and 4pm Harvey W. Wiley Federal Building, 5001 Campus Drive, Auditorium (first floor), College Park, Maryland.

Invitation for discussion proposals

The meeting will include a comprehensive agenda, which will be determined by May 11, which is the deadline being set for requests to make oral comments during the event as well as registration to attend.

Time allocated to oral presenter will be limited to no longer than ten minutes and can include proposals for future ICCR agenda items, data, information, or specific views relating to the industry.

The ICCR annual meeting

Successful proposals may be carried forward to the annual ICCR meeting, and tabled for further discussion amongst international industry representatives.

The ICCR-11 meeting will be held from July 12 – 14, in Brasilia, Brazil and will unite voluntary members from Brazil, Canada, the European Union, Japan and the United States, who are united in the aim of removing regulatory obstacles to international trade, while simultaneously assuring consumer protection.

Current ICCR members include: The Brazilian Health Surveillance Agency; Health Canada; the European Commission Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises; the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare of Japan; and FDA.
