Cosmetic formula-centric app navigates complex regulatory requirements

Dassault Systèmes’, a specialist in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management solutions has developed the 'ENOVIA' app for cosmetic formula-centric companies to navigate complex regulatory requirements and manage and leverage formulas more effectively.

Traditionally, formula-based companies working to implement a PLM strategy had to make a difficult choice.

They could implement a broad enterprise PLM solution that may have lacked the regulatory, labeling and compliance capabilities required to accelerate formula innovation or invest in a solution that provides these deep vertical capabilities, but faced challenges easily integrating other critical business processes across their enterprise.

Thus, Dassault with a long history in the Aerospace & Defense industry, moved into the cosmetic chemicals sector three years ago on acquiring 'Enginuity', the original developer of this application that claims to provide a highly-intuitive, digital work environment that helps innovators to capture all product development information for formula design.

Enovia platform enables Dassault to take the app to the next level

Through its Enovia V6 PLM platform, the 3D specialist says it has revolutionized how the industry develops and launches formulated products by taking this platform to a new level so that it can be fully integrated in a manufacturer's enterprise.

At a time when many products are coming under increased scrutiny from the international community, the ability to avoid mistakes and costly recalls while accelerating product development is of paramount importance,” says Michel Tellier, CEO, ENOVIA, Dassault Systèmes.

Dassault also claims that this solution also provides an entire R&D organization secure access to all current and historical product development data exactly when they need it – allowing it to leverage its intellectual property to avoid past mistakes and leverage past successes.

Inspection document also launched this year..

The technology specialist also launched its’ Solidworks Inspection application this year in an effort to automate the creation of inspection documents, which are required by numerous industries to reduce time to create regulatory reports while increasing data accuracy.

"Meeting international standards is key in today’s global manufacturing world. Regardless of whether a company does business locally or globally, it has to submit early design and manufacturing reports such as a First Article Inspection (FAI) report, inspection report or ballooned drawing," Tellier concludes.
