At the upcoming Luxe Pack New York event on May 16th and 17th that will play host to over 140 exhibitors including Albea, MWV and Lumson, the innovation forum will showcase some of the newest packaging developments from players in the cosmetics industry.

Sustainably is a key theme across the special exhibit, with ABA Packaging just one of the companies tapping into this trend with its wood caps for fragrances that are manufactured from sustainable, PEFC certified Ash and Beech lumbers in Europe. The company is also introducing compacts for pressed powders at the event.

The third eco-friendly product in the Infinite Movement that groups together eight industrial partners including SGD and Rexam Personal care will be on display at the Luxe Pack innovation forum. Infinite Gold is a shimmer body lotion and a fully sustainable product with minimum impact on the environment. According to the parties involved, the eco design on the packaging reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 12 per cent.

Forum shines spotlight on Aptar Beauty + Home launches

Elsewhere, the forum will also highlight two recent launches from Aptar Beauty + Home. Magic Inside is a decorative solution for fragrances that lets ornamental elements be directly attached to the dip tube, allowing brands to set themselves apart in a crowded market place.

Eden Slim, the most recent addition to the company’s range of Eden airless packaging and the winner of the 23rd Dupont Packaging Innovation award, is 100 per cent recyclable and offers optimum formula preservation according to the company. The packaging is said to be ideal for dispensing high viscosity formulations and is particularly aimed at the women’s skin care market.

Applicators from Albéa

A range of applicators developed by packaging company Albéa will be showcased at the exhibit, including the new Nano Disco and Nano Hollow plastic brushes for faster and more effective mascara application. Ease of use and greater precision for coating outer and lower lashes is afforded by the size of the ‘mini’ brushes, according to Albéa. Additionally, the hollow area in the center of the applicator creates a storage area for the formula, allowing for increased loading compared to a conventional brush.

Albéa’s Eureka powder compact concept will also be on display, which has been updated to include five powder compacts in total, two for pressed or poured powder and three for loose powder. The packaging is said to better regulate the amount of powder used, and its unconventional design helps it stand out on store shelves.
