Cosmetics Europe to prepare safety dossiers on four cosmetic ingredients

Related tags Cosmetic ingredients Cosmetics

Cosmetics Europe has created technical ingredient consortia on four cosmetic ingredients with the aim of submitting safety dossiers related to the use of these ingredients in cosmetic products in order to ensure their continued use under the EU cosmetics legislation.

The ingredients in question are formaldehyde (CAS No 50-00-0), decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) (CAS number: 541-02-6), polyaminopropylbiguanide (PHMB) (CAS numbers: 32289-58-0 / 27083-27-8) and aluminium salts.

Consortium members will accept to contribute a share of the costs incurred by the consortium and to accept the conditions stipulated in the consortium contract, which will be developed and agreed by the consortium members.

Cosmetics Europe, previously Colipa, has been the voice of Europe's €58.1bn cosmetic, toiletry and perfumery industry since 1962.
