Consumer pressure is starting to build upon brands to use sustainable palm oil that has been produced in line with the rules of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).
For cosmetics manufacturers, identifying the presence of palm oil and its derivatives in formulations is not straightforward, as INCI names do not always make the source clear.
Norman urged companies to at least take one of the options available to them, in order to start taking steps in the right direction.
