France based ingredients producer, Sederma, claims to have
discovered a plant-derived molecule that significantly increases
bust size in women - attempting to tap into a niche market within
the natural and organic cosmetics industry.

Volufiline™ is said to work through a progressive lipofilling-like action to remodel the contours of the décolleté area in order to give the appearance of a fuller bust. Sederma is tapping into the lucrative self-conscious female consumer, stating that the ingredient can round the cleavage off significantly using natural ingredients and without invasive cosmetic procedures. With market analysts Organic Monitor estimating that the European market for natural and organic products is estimated to be growing at 20 per cent a year, and set to surpass a value of €1bn, Sederma has tuned into the consumer desire for products that appear more natural and traditional, rather than industrial and artificial in origin.' The non-hormonal treatment is said to stimulate adipocyte differentiation, proliferation and volume in order to create an image of an increased bust size, thanks to a plant derived molecule that is extracted from Anemarrhena asphodeloides. The company conducted a two-month trial to discover the actual benefits of the ingredient, studying the mechanisms in vitro with extensive genetic analysis based on DNA array experiments. By using the fringe protection technique (FOITS) Sederma measured the volume, curvature and bodylines when using Volufiline and has stated there was a noticeable rounding off of the cleavage, by around 8.4 per cent. UK based cosmetics company, Pout, has already tapped into the trend for an increased bust size without surgery, having sometime ago created a bust-enhancing cream that gives the illusion of a fuller chest and also uses plant and wheat extracts.
