Pratt annual gala to honor Batallure beauty founders

The annual Pratt Institute Art of Packaging Award Gala will this year honor the Batallure brand and its founders for their commitment to beauty packaging design.

The event is firmly on the annual calendar for industry movers and shakers because it serves to recognize the hard work carried out by the Pratt Institute and its educational program for packaging designers.

Organized by Marc Rosen, who is on the teaching staff at the institute and is a world-renowned packaging designer, the gala takes place May 16th in New York City, with proceeds from ticket sales going towards the Scholarship and Education Fund for Packaging By Design.

The gala enters its 28th year

The event is now in its 28th year and in 2015 funds raised helped fund two full tuition scholarships for packaging designers, and to date it has helped raise more than $3.5m in funds, helping to fund scholarships to more than 100 Pratt students.

Over the years, Batallure Beauty founders Robin Burns-McNeill and Sam Ghusson have developed a business that focuses on creating brand strategy, product and, packaging development, as well as the sourcing and manufacturing of exemplary beauty brands.

Each year the gala organizers choose to celebrate the work of an individual, company or institute that has worked relentlessly to raise the bar on packaging excellence, and for 2017 it is the Batallure team that has been chosen for that honor.

Batallure recognized for design excellence

And in particular, the practice has come to be known for its expertise in packaging, where the business has built its reputation by using world-renowned packaging designers to create packaging concepts that are focused on innovation and quality.

Founded in 2006, Burns-McNeill and Ghusson’s work has seen them team up with brands such as Estée Lauder, Avon, Bath & Body Works, Calvin Klein, Clinique, Coty, Coty Prestige, Dior Beauty, Interparfums,  Lancôme, M·A·C on fragrance, color cosmetics, hair care and skin care product lines.
