Specialty chemical and ingredients distributor LBB Specialties will ‘exclusively represent Verdant’s Personal Care portfolio’ in the mutually beneficial principal partnership.

Last week, LBB Specialties, a North American specialty chemical and ingredients distributor and subsidiary of LBB Industries, announced it has secured a principal partnership with specialty chemical manufacturer Verdant Specialty Solutions.

The mutually beneficial partnership will expand LBB Specialties distribution portfolio while providing Verdant Specialty Solutions with a larger network for ingredient distribution as “LBB Specialties will exclusively represent Verdant’s portfolio in Personal Care and be the preferred partner for Home & Hygiene Solutions in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and the Southeastern United States with comprehensive warehousing in each of these regions,” detailed in a recent company press release.

About LBB Specialties

LBB Specialties, which generates approximately $500 million annually and employs over 110 commercial team members, has been busy in recent years. The principal partnership with Verdant Specialty Solutions is another gain for the company, whose expansion efforts date back to 2017. That year, LBB Specialties secured an equity investment in Charkit Chemical Company, LLC, which became a subsidiary of the company.

The following year, LBB Specialties secured an equity investment to acquire American International Chemical, Inc., “an ISO Certified specialty chemical, raw materials, and ingredient supplier servicing the food, pharmaceutical, nutrition, personal care, biotech, and industrial markets of North America,” as detailed on the LBB Specialties website. This acquisition further expanded the company’s distribution portfolio.

In 2019, the company grew further by acquiring Custom Ingredients, Inc., and expanded further still by securing a majority interest in Florida-based ingredient and chemical distributor Custom Chemical Services, Inc., and Connecticut-based distributor Centerchem, Inc. in 2021. Most recently LBB Specialties acquired Ontario-based specialty chemical and ingredient distributor Debro, Inc. last year.

About Verdant Specialty Solutions

LBB Specialties’ latest venture with Verdant Specialty Solutions bodes well for the financial futures of both companies. Verdant Specialty Solutions currently employs 280 commercial specialists, offers a portfolio of over 375 products, and has nine strategically places production facilities across the US and Europe.

Initially founded in the 1970s as the McIntyre Group, the company has since expanded its portfolio and operations as a leader in global surfactants manufacturing with an international presence. In recent years, Verdant Specialty Solutions has also grown its own operations through the acquisition of Baze Chemical, DeForest Enterprises and ParaFlow Energy Solutions, as detailed on its company website.

About the principal partnership

Both LBB Specialties and Verdant Specialty Solutions offer a wide range of chemical and ingredient options for several industries, including home and personal care.

About the partnership, Todd Nelmark, President, and Chief Commercial Officer of Verdant Specialty Solutions shared that “Verdant’s range of surfactant-based solutions complement LBB Specialties’ portfolio of active care ingredients, serving skin, hair, color cosmetics, toiletries, and home & hygiene applications” in LBB Specialties press release announcing the partnership, and executives from both companies expressed their enthusiasm and excitement for the anticipated growth ahead in the coming months.
