ICMAD announces 2020 Cosmetic Technical Regulatory Forum program

The 2-day educational event takes place next month in California and will cover a wide array of legal, technical, legislative, and regulatory updates affecting the cosmetics and personal care industry.

ICMAD is the is the US-based trade association for Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors and has been in existence since 1974. The association serves entrepreneur-led business of every size by offering “essential guidance and support through business tools, publications, education, networking opportunities, and key advocacy support,” ​according to icmad.org​. “We are proud to help our members foster the creativity and innovation that is the heart of the cosmetics and personal care industry,” ​explains the site.

2020 ICMAD Cosmetic Technical Regulatory Forum agenda

The week ICMAD announced the agenda for its 2-day 2020 Cosmetic Technical Regulatory Forum to be held at the Westdrift Autograph Collection Hotel in Manhattan Beach, California, on February 18 and 19.

Some 20 educational presentations and panels will help attendees get up to date on sunscreen regulations, legislation on cosmetic safety, counterfeit product protection, and insights on various country and regional market regulations.

Day 1 of the forum will begin with a legislative update from Sharon Blinkoff, counsel with the global law practice Locke Lord LLP. The day’s second session is a panel discussion on sunscreen regulations among Craig Weiss of the Consumer Product Testing Company, Carl Geffken of the quality assurance and regulatory consultancy Carl Geffken Associates, and Harry Fallick with the sun and skin care manufacturer Fallene, Ltd.

Day 2 of the ICMAD forum will kick off with an EU Upadate from the Belgium-based scientific and regulatory services company Biorius. That day’s second session will be a presentation on the state of preservatives given by Linda Sedlewicz from the industrial hygiene company Schülke.

Throughout the event there will be meals, breaks, and networking sessions where both ICMAD members and non-members can meet, connect, and converse about the their experience in the industry. Find the full 2020 ICMAD Cosmetic Technical Regulatory Forum agenda on line here.
