The personal care brand best known for its spherical lip balms announced the new leadership hire today; but according to her LinkedIn profile, Jane Ko has been working with eos since October.

eos is touting the addition of Jane Ko as a strengthening of the brand’s leadership team, noting in this week’s media release that “in her new role, dual-reporting into chief marketing officer Soyoung Kang and general manager of North America, Robert Murphy, Jane is responsible for the go-to-market brand strategy and serves as a steward of the brand in North America.”

Jane Ko returns to beauty with her new role at eos

Ko comes to eos have spent that past (nearly) 5 years in marketing roles with the Kellogg Company, most recently as that company’s senior marketing director of the global brands portfolio, including Special K and Pringles. Ko has experience in beauty as well, having worked with both L’Oréal and Shiseido’s Nars brand.

“We are excited to welcome Jane to our organization,” Jonathan Teller, CEO of eos tells the press. “Jane brings with her a unique cross-disciplinary approach to brand building and end-to-end consumer experience. We are confident her out-of-the-box business driving expertise will help further sharpen our consumer focus and support our ambitious growth plans in North America.”

Bringing new marketing strategy to winning brand

eos has something of a cult following and keeps beauty consumers shopping with limited edition packaging, holiday designs, and product bundles.

And just over a year ago the brand teamed up with TerraCycle to offer consumers a recycling option for the trendy packaging. The free program lets consumers send eos lip care, lotion, and shave product packaging for recycling. And as an incentive, TerraCycle participants earn points for what they send in and those points can be turned into donations to support schools and nonprofits of the consumer’s choice.

Ko has joined a strong brand, and she has plans to strengthen the eos presence in this region even further: “I'm thrilled to join eos and contribute to its continued growth in North America,” she tells the press.

“It's such a dynamic and exciting time for engaging with our consumers,” says Ko “I'm looking forward to working with the cross-functional team to lead the development of breakthrough marketing strategies that will deliver impact while staying true to the brand's legacy of innovation.”
