New brands emerge at The Makeup Show 2019
Dubbed as the “Beauty Experience,” The Makeup Show is where professional makeup artists go to restock their favorite products and engage in demos and workshops with premier artists from around the globe.

This year’s show displayed a diverse selection of brands, ranging from legacy companies like Make Up For Ever to indie brands popularized through social media. The following companies made their debut at the NYC show in an effort to add their lines to pro artists’ kits. Here are a few stand outs:

Dental-Inspired Beauty

Vermillion Cosmetics fuses dentistry with beauty, or ‘dental cosmetology’, with their line of liquid lipsticks, ranging from neutral nudes to bold reds and pinks. Founder and dentist Dr. George Kourakin  sought to transform the patient experience from fearful to luxurious by offering a 3-step lip treatment consisting of exfoliation using a vegan lip scrub and proprietary applicator, a hyaluronic acid-based lip sheet mask, topped off with a selected Vermillion lip shade and serum.

Chrom Toothpolish gives the artist another canvas to paint on--the teeth! Making their debut at Coachella, this product mimics nail polish, but is applied on the actual tooth. Developed by dentists, this vegan brand uses alcohol as a base for the adhesive, and is easily removed within 24 hours. The 15 SKUs line ranges from bold glitters to neon shades.

CBD Debut at the Makeup Show

MASK Skincare launched their brand at the Makeup Show with its CBD-infused sheet masks. This NYC-based company uses hand-picked, plant-derived, and full spectrum CBD oil to address skin concerns such as aging, acne, and dullness.

Their masks are divided into 3 types: ‘luminouss’ for hydration and brightness, containing coconut water, aloe vera and vitamin C; ‘ageless’ for antiaging, with kakadu plum extract and pumpkin seed to diminish the appearance of fine lines; and their 3rd mask, ‘spotless’, contains the full spectrum CBD oil to combat acne and psoriasis. Each mask retails for $29.99 or a pack of 3 for $84.99.

Fun Packaging at the Forefront

Nuest Cosmetics offers an array of fun complexion and lip products, ranging from bejeweled lip glosses, flat silicone foundation sponges, and jelly highlighters. Their dual layer cushion foundation products include a bonus color corrector or lip/cheek creme duo.

The Magical Jelly Highlighter is a spill-free water-based gel highlighter with buildable application from natural to glam. Packaged in a box resembling a purse, shades ranged from iridescent to deep coral for all skin tones.
