PromPeru highlights natural but innovative ingredient players
PromPeru is hard at work building a platform for natural ingredients suppliers from Peru, and this year’s in-cosmetics Global event provided the perfect event to highlight some unique offerings.

PromPeru is the Peruvian governments Department of Manufacturing Diversity, and it has pledged to support the development of brands and ingredients suppliers targeting the vast natural and organic cosmetic and personal care market worldwide.

During the event, in-cosmetics Global spoke to Melissa Vallebueno, export promotion specialist at PromPeru, to find out more about the companies she had put together to exhibit at this year’s in-cosmetics Global event.

“We have worked hard to assemble a selection of interesting and innovative companies that highlight the best in natural based ingredients from Peru,”​ said Vallebueno.

“We are working hard to highlight the amazing biodiversity that is found all over the country and to promote the growing number of Peruvian ingredients suppliers that are bringing unique natural-based offerings to the global cosmetic and personal care formulation market.”

Nine Peruvian ingredient companies at the event

In total nine Peruvian companies were exhibiting at the event under the PromPeru name, which also represented the Peru country pavilion.

Those company included Amazon Health Products, a company specializing in natural ingredients sourced from the Amazon region of Peru, which borders the Amazon regions of Brazil and Colombia.

Another interesting company was CNT, which was exhibiting at the event for the first time. The company is based in the country’s capital and specializes in a range of natural based colors and pigments for color, developed from Cochineal Carmine.

“Or pigments include an extensive range of solutions that include water-soluble carmine, and high tinting carmine that has been specifically developed for a range of cosmetic applications, serving to help deliver more natural formulations,”​ said CNT sales direct David Sanchez.

“This has been our first time exhibiting at in-cosmetics Global and it has been a great opportunity for us to reach out to potential new customers from all over the world. We have found that natural pigments and colors are a solution that many companies and formulators are looking for.”

PromPeru promoting finished products

PromPeru made its debut in the finished products expo space last year with a big stand at the Belleza Y Salud event in Bogota, Colombia.

The investment in the stand reflected the fact that in recent years a growing number of high quality natural and organic Peruvian brands have been launched, many of which use ingredients that were being featured at this year’s in-cosmetics Global.

The aim of Pro Peru at the Belleza Y Salud event was to platform a number of these brands, as well as highlighting the natural ingredients that the country has to offer from both the Amazon and the Andes.

The brands being platformed at the event came from four companies, all of which include natural ingredients sourced from the country.
