It has been an exciting journey this year, resulting in so many new ideas, pioneering products and trends-in-the-making. We anticipate partnering with the Cosmoprof Awards Asia going forward into the future and further supporting this dynamic and important industry.”

The winners were selected by an expert jury made out of 21 members. Each category winner was presented with a trophy designed specially by Centdegrés.

Vu, who was also one of the jury members, said the judging process was not easy considering the calibre of products submitted. “I want to congratulate everyone who participated, because it was very difficult during the whole process, the jury had a very hard time judging everything because there were so many good products that were submitted.”

Winner’s circle

For relatively young companies like COS NINE, the awards represent a huge triumph. The company won the Cosmopack Asia Make-up Packaging Technology and Design category for its product, the Magnetcara.

“Our company was established only two years ago and it’s like a start-up, so it’s a huge accomplishment for just two years,” said Choi Min Kyong, head of marketing lab for Cos Nine.

Head of Silcare’s UV coatings department, Joanna Kasperska, told Cosmetics Design Asia that winning was especially meaningful, considering the amount of effort and time put into developing the product, Idea’l UV-LED/LED Gel.

“We are very happy and proud. [The awards] is very important for us, it is a very big achievement for us as it took us one year to develop the product, it was a long time,” said Kasperska.

Michael Lindner, executive partner of Borlind GmbH, which won for its 3-in-1 Anti Blue Light Facial Oil, said the award was indication of the company’s commitment to quality.

“We are very surprised, it’s like we’re dreaming, it was not expected,” he said. “This is very special. We do our utmost and to have good quality, and today we got an award.”
