Botanical-based ingredients player Sabinsa has announced that its USA operations has appointed a new CEO and member of the board of directors – Asha Ramesh.

Sabinsa has been continued to build its US operations, where it currently has its global headquarters in New Jersey and a major manufacturing facility in Utah, while also building its presence worldwide, including established operations in India, China, Australia, Europe, Japan, South Africa and the UAE.

Worldwide the company has a total of 6 manufacturing facilities, more than 190 patents and over 120 products targeting the food, pharmaceutical, nutritional, cosmetic and personal care markets – but the heart of its operations remains the US, which is why Ramesh’s appointment is significant.

Building on experience and understanding

The position has been filled following the announcement that current CEO Jayasankar Nair would be stepping down, although it has also been convirmed that he will be retained as a senior advisor to the Sabinsa Group

“Asha is well suited to oversee Sabinsa’s US division, given her many years of experience with several aspects of the company. She has a keen understanding of the company’s principles, vision, and mission,” said Dr. Muhameed Majeed, president of global business expansion and operations.

“From her experience on the R&D and manufacturing side with Sami Labs in India, she knows our deep commitment to science, innovation, and quality, and from her US sales experience, she understands well how the company best meets the needs of our customers.”

Background in science and marketing

Ramesh has a mixed scientific and marketing background having attained a bachelor’s degree in science and an MBA with specialization in marketing management from Bangalore University, India.

“I’m excited about my new role and look forward to continuing to work with customers and the fantastic Sabinsa team to accomplish higher achievements, strategically,” Ramesh said.

“It will be my endeavor to remain committed to the Company’s mission of providing the highest quality ingredients supported by strong science and excellent customer service to the natural products industry.”
