There is a long, and growing list of environmental pollutants that can be potentially damaging to the skin, including UV light, artificial light, air pollution and oxidative damage, which are elements that are forming part of a growing list of potential perils that are causing the potential for real damage to the skins of consumers all over the world.

The evidence of this onslaught to the skin comes from a growing body of scientific evidence to prove that this damage is occurring. And in turn consumers are reaching for skin care products that will provide them with the protection they want in order to help insure that their skin remains healthy and looks good.

Skin Protection Online Conference programme

To get to the bottom of what is driving the trend, the Cosmetics Design team has created a comprehensive conference program to tackle every aspect of this ever-evolving and fast-moving area.

The programme includes two editorially driven webinars, which will include an overview on the topic of skin protection and pollution by Mintel, as well as a detailed look at artificial light pollution given by the Cosmetics Design team.

The programme will include a key note presentation by Mintell's global beauty analyst Andrew McDougal, which will act as a market overview for the event, together with a presentation titled 'How skin care research is tackling artificial light', given by Simon Pitman, senior editor for the Cosmetics Design team.
