Several cosmetics product launches and brand announcements are expected at this year’s installment of The MakeUp Show NYC, a beauty industry event (held in eight cities each year) catering to makeup artists, aestheticians, hairstylists, and similar professionals.

Like last year, The MakeUp Show NYC will be held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in the city’s Chelsea neighborhood. The show opens Saturday with an invitation-only beauty brunch and runs through Monday.

Nearly 100 brands—in categories spanning makeup, tools and brushes, skin care, hair, and more—will exhibit at this year’s show. And there will be workshops, brand-focused education, keynote presentations, and networking opportunities as well. Over the past 10+ years Shelly Taggar, owner of The MakeUp Show, has built an event that helps makeup artists build and better their skills, their kits, and their businesses.

What’s launching

The show promises to feature a number of new product launches, including the Rose. Gold. Everything. Collection that Smashbox Cosmetics has created in collaboration with makeup artist Vlada Haggerty—renowned for her highly embellished lip art. According to a pre-show media release, the collection will comprise primers, lipsticks, eyeshadows, and highlighters.

Another decidedly anticipated product launch happening at The MakeUp Show NYC is the 70-piece color cosmetics collection Jennifer Lopez developed in partnership with Inglot.

LVMH’s Make Up For Ever brand will be featuring its new Artist Color Pencils, designed to let MUAs “draw endless makeup creations with the pencil that does it all [and can be used] on cheeks, lip line, eyes and brows for monochromatic or multicolored looks,” according to the media release.

Brands at the event will be launching new products, new product lines, and featuring limited editions too. black|Up will be showing a new limited edition four-color highlighting palette. And Breakups to Makeups, the makeup clutch brand led by Angelique Velez, has teamed up with painter and makeup artist Moises Ramirez on a new collection that will be available at the show.
