The brand sees its packaging as a matter of design and home décor. Accordingly, this latest limited-edition of hand soap and dish liquid bottles all feature trendy metallic shades; and there’s a sort of influencer marketing campaign in the mix too.

“At method, we constantly strive to innovate, disrupt and drive trends,” Doug Piwinski, CMO of People Against Dirty, tells the press. “We also look to emerging trends when creating our seasonal offerings, and the luxurious metallic finish we're seeing everywhere today in art, design and fashion is undeniable. We're thrilled that our Urban Metallics look and feel more like home accessories than cleaning products,” says Piwinski. (People Against Dirty is the umbrella company name for both method and ecover.)

He does go on to add that “we're just as excited about what's inside our naturally derived products as what they look like.”

Fashionable designs

The brands new Urban Metallics Collection is being sold at both Target and Walgreens through summer.

Only four fragrances of method products are part of the collection. But, the bottles come in an assortment of seven metallic colors, including cool lavender, burnished cedar, copper rain, and golden citrus.

The company further describes its new packaging as “bottle design [that] masterfully mixes inspiration from precious warm and cool metals, like copper with nickel and pewter with brass, to create products with a sense of sophistication. Faceted forms and geometric patterns come together on the brand's iconic bottles to give them a modern architectural feel, while vivid fragrances such as burnished cedar and copper rain round out this refined collection.”

Influential designer

To promote the new packaging collection, method has teamed up with Athena Calderone, an interior designer based in Brooklyn. Calderone is, “the curatorial eye behind popular digital lifestyle destination, EyeSwoon.” She’ll be creating social content and design tips that encourage consumers to incorporate the new method bottles into their home décor.

“I love the idea of using pieces that might not seem like they go together, like hand soap with a metallic shine and a brightly patterned vase, to create unexpected balance and texture in a living space,” remarks Calderone in the company’s press release. “When method approached me to partner on the launch of their Urban Metallics Limited Edition Collection, I was thrilled to work with a brand that shares my values of sustainability, quality, and elevated design.”
