Ayurvedic ingredients are showing up in more and more consumer packaged goods, from food like the Ayurveda-inspired raw and organic chocolate brand Elements Truffles to the startup beauty brand Exquis Skincare. Ayurvedic ingredients and philosophies lend themselves nicely to personal care, coinciding with the move toward naturals, the wellness trend, with global beauty rituals, and even crossing over a bit into the emerging category of neurocosmetics. Ayurvedic beauty is a trend on the rise, as Cosmetic Design has recently reported​. Exquis Skincare is but one example of what Ayurvedic ingredients and philosophies look like in the world of beauty.

The business: ​Exquis manufactures and sells unique, high end beauty and skincare products (made in the US) that effectively treat eczema, acne, hyperpigmentation, mild psoriasis, while luxuriously hydrating and nourishing the skin for a brighter and healthier appearance. The products utilize a proven proprietary platform liposome technology that enables the superior effective delivery of Ayurvedic ingredients, antioxidants, moisturizers and vitamins to the outer epidermal and inner dermal layers of skin. As a result, Exquis products provide dramatic positive changes in the health and appearance of skin by reducing the look of uneven skin tone, the appearance of dark spots caused by aging and repeated environmental exposure, hormonal fluctuations, and even past acne damage.

The wow-factor:​ No other skincare product line sold in the USA consists of Ayurvedic natural actives delivered through a proprietary liposome technology. Exquis products contain traditional Ayurvedic ingredients best known for their extensive anti-inflammatory, calming and healing properties, including turmeric, sandalwood, basil, neem, and jasmine; and also antioxidants, moisturizers, and vitamins.

The customer:​ Our target consumer is women and men between the ages of 25 and 55 years old.

Milestone moment: ​I have developed highly effective skin care products. These products have helped several people in living their life normally. Our repeat order rate is more than 80%. These facts make me very proud.

Advice for fellow indie beauty entrepreneurs:​ Building a successful new brand requires a lot of money. It also requires expertise and skills in diverse areas. You need to reach out and seek help from family; friends; local, state, and federal agencies; and venture capital for required resources. This is a very exciting journey.
