Ann S. Plimpton will soon be the new board chair at Inolex
As the specialty ingredients company positions its business squarely in the cosmetics and personal care industry, the announcement of a new incoming board chair underscores the company’s new focus as a global innovator in beauty.

At the end of August, Ann S. Plimpton will formally take on her new role as chair of the Inolex board of directors. She is succeeding her husband Conrad Plimpton, who has served as board chair at Inolex for more than 35 years.

Science

Beyond the central tasks of chairing the board, Plimpton sees this as an opportunity to act as an ambassador for women in science. “We strongly believe in encouraging women to pursue study toward careers in the Sciences, and I look forward to continuing to support that through my new role with INOLEX,” says Plimpton in a media release.

As a microbiologist, Plimpton brings a particular expertise to her new role. She holds a BA in Biology from Wellesley College, an MS in Genetics from Northwestern University, and studied graduate-level Immunology, Virology, Cellular Biology, and Genetics at the University of Chicago. “Her background as a microbiologist adds valuable technical perspective to the company as it continues to grow as an industry leader in alternative preservation solutions,” notes the media release.

Beauty

Early this year Inolex divested its industrial lubricants business, “to focus exclusively on its global capabilities as a specialty ingredients supplier in beauty and personal care,” according to the company.

And other changes have been made to help the company further specialize in beauty ingredient development and production, including hires in commercial and technical roles as well as the bolstering of company facilities in both Paris, France, and Guangzhou, China.

“These advancements represent the company’s full commitment to continuing to bring its portfolio of innovation products to beauty and personal care brands around the globe,” according to the Inolex media release.
