The Makeup in New York event organizers are readying for the latest edition which will take place at Center415 in Midtown New York City, for the first time.

In recent years the Beauteam US, which is responsible for the event, has been hard pushed to find the right location for the event but is hoping that positioning it in the heart of Midtown, between 37th and 38th Street, will be optimal.

This year’s event will take place over two days, between September 19th and 20th and will also include a comprehensive conference and educational program that will include hot topics such as indie beauty, legacy brands and a closer look at the K-Beauty trend.

Day one conference program

The conference program will kick off on September 19th at 10:20am with a state of the market presentation from the NPD group, analysing what is happening in the US market and what the key drivers are right now.

Following on from this presentation, at 11.15am, a conference segment titled “How New Technologies & Sciences Are Driving the Beauty Industry” will take place, involving speakers from Google, L’Oréal and Peders Paris.

In the afternoon a roundtable discussion will take place called “Indies are Today’s Business Pioneers” which will involve a panel of four experts from Moelis & Company, Milk Studio Makeup, Pinch of Colour and MPWR.

Day Two conference programme

The second day of the conference program also includes a state of the global market, which will start at 11am and will be given by Sarah Jindal, senior innovation and Insight Analyst at market research company Mintel’s beauty and personal care division.

“The Rise of China Beauty Brands and Their Ambitions Abroad, Including the US” is the title of the 2pm which will be a series of presentations and a roundtable discussion moderated byby Charles-Emmanuel Gounod, Beautyworld Connexions and Yuting Sun, of the Beauteam.

The program will finish with a roundtable discussion on “The K-Beauty Trend; The Growing Influence of Korean Brands in the US”, which will include panellists Florence Bernadin of Information & Inspiration, Charlotte Cho, co-founder of Soko Glam, and Edmer Bodmer, head of US marketing for Aritaum, AmorePacific.
