BPI Labs to offer single-use packaging options as of May 31st
The private label personal care contract manufacturer recently purchased new equipment that will enable the company to meet client needs for sample-size and single-portion packaging. BPI also has plans to innovate in the bath bomb space starting this summer.

Operating since 1992, BPI labs is located in Evanston, Wyoming, and offers personal care brands a number of private label services from its “factory in the Rocky Mountains,” as the BPI site describes it.

Now, with the recent purchase of new equipment, the company is growing its services to include sachet packaging and bath bomb production.

Sachets on the way

“The sachet machine is an inexpensive way to get samples into your customer’s hands,” says Natalie White, BPI Labs’ project manager, in a recent press release about the upgrade.  “Sample packets,” she adds “induce more first time buyers and provide cross-selling opportunity for BPI’s customers.”

Going online at the end of this month, the new machine is able to pack both dry and liquid personal care products. For liquid product the options will be a square 5oz pack or a bottle-shaped 4oz pack. Powder can be packaged in 2oz sachets.

Filling 2 packs at time, the new equipment will be able to turn out 140 sachet packs every minute, according to the release, which suggests that “clients of BPI Labs can use these packets as sample or single-use products ideal for traveling or promoting products.”

Effervescent body care

BPI Labs has also purchased a bath bomb machine. And as of June, will be able to make bath bombs in both 2.5 cm and 1.67 cm sizes. (Other sizes will apparently be available but will require additional machine components.)

The company expects clients to get creative with this new offering. “In addition to being able to make bath bombs with the new machine, you could make products for hand and foot treatments in effervescing ball form," suggests White. "We are trying to broaden the bath bomb paradigm,” she says.
