Elé Corporation names new distributor for personal care ingredients in the eastern states
Elé Corporation manufacturers nearly 200 personal care ingredients, ranging from color fixatives to foam stabilizers, from emollients to conditioning agents, and from humectants to surfactants.
Now, Elé is offering these to personal care product makers in the Northeast and Atlantic Coast regions through a distribution partnership with Callahan Chemical.
“The Solvay Novecare distributor consolidation earlier this year left a gap in the marketplace, one that we believe the Elé-Callahan partnership will fill extremely well,” says Gayle Lopez, sales manager for the Elé Corporation, in a press release about the deal.

Callahan Chemical Company distributes chemicals for several industrial sectors: pharmaceutical, nutrition, food flavor, household, industrial, coatings, adhesives, and more.
The New Jersey – based company got its start in 1958. Founded by James B. Callahan, the distribution company now comprises nearly 20 sales staffers, according to the Cal Chem site, and is to this day fully family owned.
Commenting on the new partnership with Elé Corporation, Gregory Shetler, Callahan Chemical’s current president, tells the press, “we are delighted to offer an alternative line of amphoteric surfactants, organosilicone conditioning agents, and other specialty ingredients to our customers in the Eastern U.S.”
“The appointment of Callahan Chemical as the exclusive channel partner for the Elé product line enhances our mission to provide optimized chemical solutions that are aligned with individual customer needs,” adds Shetler.
It is, of course, an arrangement that meets the need of both companies. “We are thrilled to extend our reach through Callahan’s very experienced sales team, as well as support our mutual goal of collaborating and co-inventing technically superior solutions to an expanded customer base,” says Lopez.
