Collagen and packaging player announce ‘breakthrough’ nutricosmetics collaboration
Nippi Collagen and Flex Pak have announced a strategic partnership that will result in the co-development launch of a collagen-based nutricosmetic using a new ‘pouch’ delivery system.

The Inner Beauty Jel combines the flexible pouch pak delivery system developed by Flex Pak, with TruMarine Collagen based on a fruit infused collagen that results in an ‘on the go’ beauty supplement.

The delivery system contains 5 grams of TruMarine collagen that is designed as a therapeutic dose for one serving, contained inside a 1.2oz package.

“The partnership between Nippi Collagen and Innovative Flex Pak is a truly exciting opportunity that offers a breakthrough new delivery system and product to consumers,” said Greg Nielsen, vice president of Nippi Collagen.

So what’s the big advantage in the delivery system?

Where the flexible pouch pak really provides added value is the fact that it provides a one serving solution for a product that is otherwise difficult to package as such because of the dosing size.

Many of our customers have asked us about alternative dosage forms that lend themselves to the once-a-day, higher dose load format," said Greg Nielsen, vice president of Nippi Collagen.

"Because Collagen lends itself to a higher dose per day, it presented a perfect fit for IFP's flex pouch technology, and we are pleased with the result of our co- development partnership."

Early trials have proved ‘remarkable’

According to both companies, early market trials of a pilot sample of the nutricosmetic concept have proved to be ‘remarkable’, encouraging the two companies to go ahead with a retail launch.

Subsequently the product has now been launched in a number of healthcare platforms, including the beauty from within category, also known as nutricosmetics.

Collagen is said to provide a number of skin health benefits, which are said to be enhanced through ingestion. Clinical research has found that oral use of collagen can improve skin moisture levels and give the skin a smoother appearance, in turn tackling signs of aging.
