Nova Technology launches one-stop testing solution for skin hydration
New Jersey-based Nova Technology has launched a new one stop solution for the testing of skin hydration that incorporates a noninvasive method of data collection.

Called Sinergie, the software technology is said to go one step further than most comparable offerings on the market by giving laboratory workers the opportunity to capture both data and digital photos.

The technology comes in the form of the DPM 9003BT hardware, which is a battery powered and at 340 grams is highly portable, allowing testing to be carried out at just about any given lab location.

Sinergie connects to iPads

The device is compatible with an Apple iPad, which means that it can be adapted to add a digital image of either the subject or test site, which can be then stored and analyzed using the setting sin the Singergie software.

Furthermore, the device can also be connected wirelessly to the iPad using Bluetooth technology, enhancing operational and data transfer capabilities, without the need for more wires and cables.

On top of this, the system is also self-calibrating, making startup much quicker, uses a remote sensor port allowing users to alternate sensors during testing and has an automatic sensor switch that activates the system as soon as it comes into contact with the skin.

Easy set up

According to feedback from Nova Technology customers, the equipment is easy to set up, and in most cases it has taken less than a morning to start taking accurate readings once the DPM 9003BT has been connected to the iPad.

Adding to the flexibility is the fact that the equipment can be used to take accurate readings in both in vivo and in vitro studies.

Skin hydration is one of the most important functions for skin care formulators, as it hits on both the general moisturization and anti-aging functions – two of the requirements consumers want to see from their skin care products.
