Today, Makeup New York will open its doors for the fourth consecutive year, promising once again to be bigger than ever, thanks to more exhibitors and an expanded conference program.

The two day event, which will be covered by the Cosmetics Design team, will take place again at the Center548 in Chelsea, and will feature some of the leading suppliers to the make-up and color cosmetics categories from across the world across three floors.

The show has continued to gain momentum over the past four years and the plan is to welcome more than 2,000 visitors at the  2,000 sqm venue over the next few days.

Twelve different conference presentations over two days

The program will include 12 different conferences, each of which will focus on different aspects of the industry, from the most recent trends in the retail category, to new packaging and formulation technology.

A keynote presentation from leading market research company, NPD Group, will kick off presentations today, entitled ‘Overview of Color Cosmetics in the US’.

The presentation will be given by Kissura Mondesir, who will focus on the some of the most successful innovations in the category that are helping to drive growth right now, as well as projecting the big future trends.

Looking into the future…

The fast-moving color cosmetics market is driven by both fashion and innovation, so having a good handle on what to expect in the future is crucial. ‘Looking to the Future for Inspiration’ will take place at 11:15am today, and will see Maude Standish of Mistress Creative throw some light on what to expect.

There will also be a presentation from Florence Bernadin, of Information & Inspiration on ‘Make-up Trends in Asia (Japan and Korea) and France' today which will strive to highlight the parallels and differences in these distinctive and important markets.

Other presentations tomorrow will include the ‘Psychology of Color Marketing’ by Leslie Carrington of Color Association of the US, together with the final presentation in the program, ‘Luxury and Color Cosmetics’, by Leila Rochet-Podvin, of Cosmetics Inspiration & Creation.
