Deadline extended for HBA International Package Design Award nominations
It is not too late to enter for the HBA International Package Design Awards (IPDA), but those entries need to be put together fast…

Organizer UBM Canon has extended the deadline to this Friday, May 2nd, for what is the only completion in the US that honors the year’s most innovative beauty packaging in a variety of categories that include cosmetics, fragrance and personal care.

Other categories that are recognized include skin care, hair care, innovations in sustainability, sample/travel size, and at-home devices and tools.

Rewarding a cross section of industry players

The awards have traditionally acknowledged a real cross section of industry players, from major international brands, to independent packaging companies and emerging businesses.

This includes suppliers, design firms, agencies and brand manufacturers, who have all been prize winners, including names such as Benefit Cosmetics, Five Star Fragrance, MAC Cosmetics, Yves Rocher and the Estee Lauder Companies.

In line with this tradition, the organizer is inviting any size company to submit finished beauty and personal care product to be assessed for the merits of their packaging design if they were launched in the retail market between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014.

New deadline is the end of this week!

The deadline for submissions was last Friday, April 25th, but this has been extended due to continued interest from potential entrants and a flurry of last minute entries.

The finalists will be announced in mid-May and the category winners will be revealed on June 11, 2014, during the second day of the three day show, which will be held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York, June 10 – 12.

The judging panel includes IPDA designers, packaging experts, as well as members of the media, who will all be closely reviewing the entries for innovation, presentation, originality, use of raw materials, components and decorating processes.
