Researcher who created original Dove bar dies
Vincent Lamberti, who led the team which originally developed the Dove ‘soap’ bar, has died in North Jersey, aged 86.

Working for 40 years with the then Lever Brothers division of Unilever as patent coordinated and manager of organic chemisty, Lamberti researched and developed products which launched the Dove brand.

Fellow researchers have noted that Lamberti leaves behind a legacy of 118 granted US patents with Unilever, with more from other countries, which they note is an unusually robust portfolio.

I don’t think there’s anyone at Unilever with as many patents. He stands out as the role model,” Unilever researcher, Stephen Madison, told NorthJersey.com.
