The latest executive level cosmetic industry appointments in North America include new positions at luxury cosmetics player Coty, beauty licensing company Boldface and CPL Aromas.

Coty has confirmed the appointment of Mario Reis as executive vice president of Supply Chain, a position he is set to take up on May 1st​, of this year.

Reis is replacing the retiring Darryl McCall, based in Geneva, Switzerland and will become a member of the executive committee and will report directly to Michele Scannavini, current Coty CEO.

He brings with him more than 30 years of experience to the position as both a business leader and an expert in the supply chain area, having been employed in executive positions at food company Danone from 1996 – 2014.

"His successful and diversified experience in the supply chain and commercial fields brings to Coty a unique perspective and strong skill set for a best in class end-to-end supply chain,"​ said Scannavini, commenting on Reis’s appointment.

Boldface announces new CEO

Cosmetics beauty licensing company Boldface has announced a new face at the helm of its business, having appointed John LaBonty as president and CEO.

LaBonty has experience that includes VP/General Manager of International for Smashbox Cosmetics, where he is credited with playing a major part in growing the businesses’ revenues by 400%.

He also brings with him a wealth of experience with mass market players, including Procter & Gamble and Tambrands, where he has led multiple sales, marketing and general management operations.

“I am impressed with what they have created and am confident that we can bring their vision to reality."​ said LaBonty, speaking about his new position at Boldface, which last year recorded revenues of almost $2bn.

CPL Aromas gets new perfumer in the US

UK-based fragrance player CPL Aromas has appointed a new perfumer to represents its business interesting in the United States market, having announced Gail Fowler Krell to the position.

Fowler Krell has extensive experience as a perfumer in the US market, where she had a professional training and has also worked for a number of high profile industry players.

According to the company, she has held positions at Florasynth, Naarden, Fritsche Dodge & Olcott and Givaudan creating a number of highly successful fragrances for a range of applications including Fine Fragrance, Personal Care and Aircare products.
