Coty and Avon team up in Brazil
In a joint statement, the brands stated their intention for Avon representatives to begin selling ‘select’ Coty products alongside the company’s own range.
The companies state that they believe Avon’s strong retail presence in Brazil will couple with the popularity of Coty’s product range, in order to increase the prominence of both parties’ portfolios in the country.
Full details of the partnership are yet to be confirmed, but the partnership will particularly focus on the sale of Coty fragrances through Avon's 1.5 million sales representatives in Brazil.
“The broad portfolio of Coty's celebrity and lifestyle brands has strong consumer appeal, allowing Avon Representatives to better serve their customers, grow their consumer base and increase their earnings,” the brands said.
The collaboration marks a new chapter in the companies' relations, following Coty's rejected bid of almost $11 billion to acquire Avon in 2012, and also follows Coty’s move to court the emerging market with its partnership with Enrique Iglesias in January.
