Clariant readies launch of new sustainable concept and natural ingredients
Switzerland-based ingredients player Clariant is readying the launch of the EcoTain concept for its personal care customers and its next-generation of natural ingredients.

The company will be officially unveiling the new ingredients and concept under the Secret Code of Beauty banner at in-cosmetics Hamburg, which is being held April 1 – 3, but here we preview the new launches ahead of the event.

The reason for the launch of the concept and the new preservative is, according to the company, being driven by the fact that personal care consumers are increasingly demanding natural-inspired and sustainable products.

EcoTain targets greener more sustainable formulation

The company says that the launch of the EcoTain concept for its personal care customers will allow them the assurance of ‘sustainable excellence at every step’ for a selected range of ingredients within its personal care portfolio.

The concept has been built around initiatives and programmes that include environmental performance, sustainable innovation and community projects that encompass the initial chemical design all the way through to the product life cycle, and its eventual disposal or recycling.

“An integral part of the Secret Code of Beauty is our commitment to sustainable excellence at every step via our EcoTain Code,” said Anu Desikan, global Marketing Manager Personal Care at Clariant.

“Extending Clariant’s EcoTain concept to our Personal Care customers was therefore a logical next step. Clariant helps fulfill consumers’ desire for purity and effectiveness by offering naturally-derived, sustainable and safer products that are also Ecocert approved.”

The company will also be highlighting a number of its latest ingredient launches at the event, including Nipguard Zero, which is said to be a safer and effective alternative to parabens, together with halogens and formaldehyde donors based on 100% renewable Velsan SC synergistic booster; next-generation naturally-derived, sustainable and safer products that are also Ecocert approved.

It will also be playing a part in the event’s innovations seminars, presenting one about Nipaguard Zero, on April 1 in Theatre 3, and another entitled “Next generation of multifunctional, high performing, green emulsifiers” on April 2 in Theatre 1.
