The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics has launched an online letter writing campaign, urging Walgreens to remove hazardous chemicals from some of the baby products it sells. Here Cosmetics Design brings you brings you up to date on the latest news, reaction and information around the matter.

On conducting a survey of Walgreens store shelves, the NGO is focusing on formaldehyde and the formaldehyde-releasing compound, quaternium-15, that the it says has been found in some baby products being sold at the giant retailer's stores across the US.

"Walgreens is still using quaternium-15 in some of its baby products, which releases formaldehyde over time to serve as a preservative. The problem is that formaldehyde is a known carcinogen that has no business being in baby products."
