Skin care maker Senté has entered into an agreement with group purchasing organization Aesyntix Physician Network, as it looks to expand the distribution of its products based on glycoproteins.

Glycoproteins consist of a sugar and a protein, attaching to the surface of cells and allowing growth factors and other molecules to regenerate the skin.

They facilitate many beneficial functions including the development of new collagen and the promotion of natural biological processes for skin renewal and repair.

Network power

APN, a subsidiary of Aesyntix Health, is a GPO designed specifically to help dermatology and cosmetic surgery practices improve profitability and efficiency with contract pricing and other practice management resources.

"Sente's selection of Aesyntix demonstrates our ability to deliver the highest quality products at the best prices for our members," said Clark Avery, CEO of Aesyntix Health.

"Furthermore, it is a testament to the advantage our supply chain services bring both practices and manufacturers in the dermatology and cosmetic surgery markets. It is yet another example of the power of the network."

APN currently has more than 1,100 members across 41 states, benefitting from the cost savings delivered by the Aesyntix contracts on leading products.

Product potential

"The extensive network of physicians in the Aesyntix community is very impressive, and we are excited to now offer them access to our newly launched dermatological product, Senté Dermal Repair Cream," said Faheem Hasnain, chairman of Senté.

"This partnership helps to solidify our goal of delivering novel and innovative products to the medical and cosmetic communities."

Senté Dermal Repair Cream features a proprietary formulation of the active ingredient heparan sulphate; which is the most biologically active of the glycoproteins that reside in human skin.

The biologically active glycoproteins used in the cream help promote cell renewal, facilitate new collagen development, increase skin hydration, gradually lighten the appearance of pigmented lesions and soothe irritated skin.
