Liz Taylor's estate gains rights to LizTaylor.xxx domain
The Liz Taylor estate, which includes The Liz Taylor Trust, Interplanet Productions Limited and Elizabeth Taylor Cosmetics Company, has won the right to the domain name LizTaylor.xxx.
The estate went through the National Arbitration Forum to contend the registration of the domain, which is under the name Register.com.
Although xxx domain names are usually only registered to adult community websites, this domain was said not to have been intended for this kind of use.
However, the estate, which represents a multi-million dollar licensing business for its namesake in cosmetics, fragrances and aparel, was concerned that the domain could be used to market similar products under the Elizabeth Taylor name.
