Symrise Brazil becomes first UEBT member for fragrance
Symrise is the fourth largest global supplier of essences and aromas, serving about 11 percent of the international market, including a number of perfume and cosmetics manufacturers, distributing about 30,000 products in 160 countries.

The Brazilian subsidiary of the German Symrise Corporation was approved as UEBT member after going through an independent audit and submitting a 3 year work-plan

Member conditions
To become a member of UEBT, companies need to commit to the principles of Ethical BioTrade as they are laid out in the UEBT Standard.
Amongst these are the conservation of biodiversity, the sustainable use of resources, and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the utilization of natural resources and associated traditional knowledge.
The requirements of UEBT membership include the adoption of a biodiversity management system which integrates the UEBT Standard and ensures gradual implementation throughout the organisation's natural ingredient portfolio, as well as the prioritisation of supply chains in which the UEBT Standard is applied in an accelerated manner.
