Next week the Midwest chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists will open the doors to TeamWorks, the big event for cosmetic suppliers in the US Midwest region.

The event is taking place this Tuesday,  March 21st, from 8.30am to 6pm, at the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Chicago, and will feature an exhibition space with all the leading suppliers from the region.

The CosmeticsDesign editorial team will also be attending the event to report back on the major developments highlighted at the show, product launches, as well as relating significant findings from the event’s symposium.

Big company names will include Purac, BASF and Rhodia, who are also event sponsors, but the extensive exhibitor list includes more than 100 booths featuring companies that cater to the needs of chemical and formulation professionals in the cosmetics industry, as well as other industries, including pharmaceutical.

2012 Technical Symposium

This year’s symposium will feature a half day of presentations entitled ‘Meeting Market Demand: New Advances in Skin and Hair’.

The symposium will include an introduction to a range of eco-friendly technologies on the market, a keynote presentation by Rebecca James Gadberry on epigenetics, together with five other presentations touching on topics such as hair straightening, formulation customization and hypopigmenting agents.

Findings from the presentations will be summed up by a round-table discussion, which will include a selection of the symposium panel who will be discussing some of the most poignant points raised during the morning’s proceedings.

Networking, networking, networking!

Networking opportunities are also a key feature of the event, and the organizers say that the luncheon buffet is likely to play a core role in this networking experience.

However even greater opportunities for networking will be available to those companies and individuals attending the Social Night, which will be held the evening before the event at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Hotel, within proximity to the Convention Center and O’Hare Airport.

But aside from business opportunities, the event will include a buffet dinner and a more casual atmosphere, which will be focused around activities such as pool, darts, baggo, ping-pong and board games.
