Croda launches naturally-derived and sustainable oil structurants
Croda has launched two new materials; Syncrowax OSW (Oil Structuring Wax) and Syncrowax ORM (Oil Rheology Modifier) in response to global shortages and increasing prices of Montan wax that, according to the company, has left personal care formulators searching for alternatives.
In addition to providing oil-thickening and structurant alternatives for the wax, the materials are also said to be naturally derived from 100 percent renewable resources.
According to Croda, both Syncrowax OSW and Syncrowax ORM can be used for significant SPF boosting while structuring waxes and oils.
The company has created several starting formulations that highlight these materials; such as a gel eye shadow, sunscreen and a lipstick.
