HBA show to platform latest innovations in finished products

This year’s HBA event will have a brand new feature called Splash, designed to highlight the latest in finished product innovations from emerging cosmetic and personal care brands.

The HBA Splash Pavilion will debut at this years event, held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City from June 19 to 21. The dedicated area on the expo floor will feature a series of products that will have been selected by a panel of retailers, beauty bloggers, brand experts and entrepreneurs.

The aim is to provide an industry-wide platform to some of the newest and most progressive products currently on offer, giving visibility and a branding opportunity to brands that are fighting for recognition in an ultra competitive market.

The initiative is similar to other cosmetic and personal care industry events, which have dedicated areas given over to the promotion and showcasing of brands that innovate, whether it be with regards to formulation, green manufacturing processes, packaging or any other distinctive feature.

Highlighting a new generation of finished products

Splash will highlight a new generation of cosmetics and personal care from categories that will include hair care, skin care, fragrance and nail care to the gathered industry professionals, together with a long list of beauty media which has a strong base in New York.

Highlighting the fact that the industry is very much driven by increasingly innovative products, Ann Colville Somma, innovation consultant, blogger and Splash jury member said: “Today’s beauty consumers have an insatiable appetite for newness and innovation.”

Somma went on to describe the Splash Pavilion as: “… part of discovering and showcasing the next wave of beauty must-haves.”

Hurry, deadline for admissions is January 30th!

HBA is currently accepting products for testing and review to become a part of the Pavilion, but the deadline is currently set for January 30, 2012, which means candidates have to apply within the next week.

The entry requirements stipulate that the finished products must have been in national or international retail distribution for no more than two years, and should be backed up by an interesting development history.

Likewise, the jury will also be looking out for ‘finished goods that are effective, offer new solutions, and fill a unique consumer need…’

Selected products will get valuable show exposure

Those products selected by the jury to participate within the Splash Pavilion will turnkey packages to display their products on the show floor, as well as the opportunity to have face-to-face meetings with interested parties.

As well as having their products promoted by the event organizers through promotional materials and various social media initiatives, successful candidates will also receive a three-day free pass to admit them to the complete HBA conference program.
