Unipex Canadian distributor of Mirasil silicones for personal care products
The new partnership extends Bluestar Silicones’ existing relationship with Unipex in Europe and takes advantage of their strong technical expertise, according to Mark Neuber, business director Bluestar Silicones.
The core group of Mirasil silicone grades to be distributed includes performance blends like high-molecular weight gums in carriers such as cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone.

“We welcome this new distribution arrangement which expands our portfolio options for personal care formulating companies,” said Marcel Painchaud, market manager Unipex Solutions Canada. “Our strategy to align our business with global industry leaders is further solidified by this agreement with Bluestar Silicones.”
Mirasil silicone products are targeted at the personal care market, in categories such as hair and skin care, as well as anti-perspirants and deodorants.
According to the company, the ingredients provide a smooth dry feel to skin preparation with good durability and water repellence, easy to comb wet hair, while also providing dry hair with conditioning, softening, and shine.
In skin care applications, Mirasil silicones impart a soft dry feel on the skin and can help to improve water resistance properties in sun-care products.
Lucas Meyer
Unipex recently also acquired Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, a supplier of natural cosmetic functional ingredients, delivery systems, and active ingredients.
According to the company, this acquisition will expand the strategic portfolio of its product line, and aligns perfectly with its corporate vision that focuses on innovations and client satisfaction.
