Arizona Sunwash launches anti-aging body cleanser with SPF protection

US-based Arizona Sunwash has launched Solise, a body wash and a hand wash which protects against sun damage, whilst cleansing.

Solise’s patented emulsion formula uses natural soy emollients to bind the sunscreen elements of the formulation to a layer of the body’s natural oils, which is found on top of everyone’s skin. This occurs simultaneously as the soap elements of the formula wash away dirt and other impurities.

Solise body wash and hand wash cleanse like other moisturising washes with the added benefit of sunscreen”, said Michael Doyle, partner, Arizona Sunwash corp. “You simply lather, rinse, and towel-dry as usual for full SPF 15 protection.”

Arizona Sunwash’s promotion of Solise as anti-aging is due to the sunscreen elements in the formulation; skin damage is prevented by blocking UVA rays (which is the main cause of skin damage such as wrinkles), and thus the products can be labelled as anti-aging.

As part of daily routine

As a whole, the cosmetics industry is inundated with anti-aging products; when asked why the decision to enter this market was made, the company responded by saying the continued rise in skin cancer rates made it clear that more than the traditional sunscreen was needed.

Furthermore, a company spokesperson added that its product is unique because it “requires a person to do nothing more than their usual daily routine.”

Referring to the Skin Cancer Foundation’s claims that if children use sunscreen daily, it reduces their risk of skin cancer by 78 per cent, the company president, Dave Lillard states, “With Solise, we aim to protect those people who otherwise do not take the time to apply sunscreen daily, as well as give added protection to the people that do.”

Three-in-one

The company claims to be launching the world’s first anti-aging body wash and hand wash with sunscreen due to its three-in-one combination, which it says is less to do with the ingredients used in the formulation and more to do with the emulsion mixture process.

The emulsion process involves an oil-based wash combined with a full spectrum UVA/UVB blocking sunscreen, with titanium dioxide as the main active ingredient, and a mixture of moisturizers.

In order to substantiate the claim made, the company states that Solise was kept in a test phase for the past three years, in an FDA certified laboratory, where it was tested exactly as it has been marketed.
