Dow focuses on silicone-free trend with launch of hair care conditioning ingredient

At last week's in-cosmetics show in Milan, the CosmeticsDesign team got the opportunity to speak to Eunice Heath, global general manager at Dow Home and Personal Care, who discussed the growing area of silicone-free formulations.

Explaining how this trend is growing, both with respect to different personal care categories as well as in different geographies worldwide, Heath underlined how important this requirement is to the industry..

Coinciding with this trend, the company was also launching a new silicone-free hair care ingredient a the show, Ecosmooth Silk, which is targeted at the conditioning category.

The new ingredient has been developed to meet formulators needs for ease and flexibilty, as well as hitting on consumer demands for smooth and manageable hair.
