Dr. Straetmans is paving the way for ingredients with more sustainable and eco-friendly credentials, claims key executive Fernando Ibarra in an exclusive video interview.

As consumers become more concerned about the destruction of the environment and deforestation, cosmetics companies are coming under increasing pressure to source and produce sustainably.

And with palm oil being used throughout a wide range of cosmetics emulsifiers, it was one of the main talking points at the recent European ingredients show, in-cosmetics.

In Milan, CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com spoke with Ibarra about the launch of the company's new palm oil-free emulsifier at the show.

The aim for the German company is to find ingredients that are sustainably sourced and can be used instead of palm oil, but maintain the same quality of product.

Ibarra discusses how manufacturers are turning to these methods as they attempt to use natural and sustainably sourced ingredients, and how palm oil-free derivatives can offer the same benefits.
